Tours of the City Walking Tours Most places of interest in Mexico City are concentrated in small of pockets of the city so travelling on foot is often the best means of getting around short distances. However, it is worth remembering that, due to the effects of altitude and the pollution, it is not uncommon to feel tired and breathless when walking even short distances for the first few days after arrival. Bus Tours Half- or full-day tours of the city typically include pick-up and drop-off at major hotels and visits to the Centro Histórico and the Museo Nacional de Antropología accompanied by an English-speaking guide. Grey Line Tours (tel: (5) 208 1163) offers a city tour from US$23 leaving every two hours; tours to bullfights, evening fiestas and excursions to Taxco and Puebla can also be arranged. Cemart (tel: (5) 511 6025 or 514 4903) also offers city tours with an English-speaking guide. Bestours (tel: (5) 514 3080) offers tours of the city, the Museo Nacional de Antropología, the Pyramids of Teotihuacán, Xochimilco, Taxco and Puebla. |
